About a month ago, I got a phone call from my modelling friend Grega: “Hey! What are you doing on the weekend of 5th, 6th October? Are you interested in travelling with me to Šumperk in Czech republic for a modelling competition? I’ll drive.”
Grega is a world class modeller with numerous international modelling awards and was invited to have a weathering workshop at Modelfest. After getting a green light from my Mrs. I had no other choice but to confirm!
So on Friday morning I travelled to Ljubljana (Slovenia) to Grega’s place where we embarked on a 700km journey.
Road took us NorthEast via Vienna and border crossing at Mikulov.

via Brno through Moravia towards Šumperk

After arriving to our hotel and meeting the organizers, it was time for a nice dinner Czech style and a good night’s sleep before a very busy day.
Organizers received 420 entries via internet applications and at the end of the registration, the total was almost 700 models!
