Unfortunately due to death in my family, I cannot show you much progress at this moment. Flat coat was added and clear parts unmasked. Rotor parts are just dryfitted for the looks.
To my horror, clear parts have fogged from the inside. I am not sure what caused this, as I was taking extreme care when glueing fuselage halves together and clear parts were glued with non-agressive white glue. Anyhow repair works have already started as well as painting the details and rotor weathering. With a little bit of luck, she’ll be finished by the end of the week.
Every time I have used white glue, I end up with it all looking rubbery and messy around the edges of canopies.
Well white glue works just perfectly. You just have to apply tiny amount on the framing and wipe any excess with water moisturized cotton bud. I am using it for quite some time now and it works like a charm. Problem with this kit however is the poor shape of the clear parts and the associated holes for them so quite a lot has to be used to get something decent out of it. I would much more prefer using the Italeri kit – at least on the sprues, it looks way better than this.
Italeri looks nice on the sprue, but I have spent generous amount of white glue for filling the seams around clear parts…
